separated the combatants at game's end. The Burbank Tigers put 5 runs on the
scoreboard in the 8th inning and won by the slimmest of margins, 8 to
7.
Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Burbank came out on
top in the 11th inning. David Murphy led off and started the rally when he
drew a walk. Ramon Hernandez next to the plate and he drew a walk. Mark
Teahen then smacked a single to load the bases. Brian Roberts came up and he
worked the squeeze play to perfection. Coco Crisp stepped into the box and
stroked a single. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5
times.
Chad Gaudin(1-1) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the win. Renyel Pinto(6-5)
was the losing pitcher in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 2 hits in 1 and
2/3 innings.
